You may have noticed over the past couple of weeks, that I have made some updates to my banner images here on the blog and on facebook too. The great thing about that process was that I didn’t even have to hire some one to take new photos. That’s right! Along with being cute as a button and smart as a whip, my wife Hannah is also a great photographer*, so a couple weekends ago we decided to head out on a Saturday to take some photos. I had spotted this location, along the side of the road as we were driving sometime earlier, and knew that it was a location that I wanted to check out. I’m not sure what this area used to be, but I know now that it is a perfect location for a shoot!
*You may even spot her shooting seconds at weddings, if you’re fortunate enough!
Even with my sweet wife coaching me during our adventure, I felt rather uncomfortable being on the side of the camera than I’m not used to being on. I definitely have a renewed desire to do everything I can to make clients feel comfortable during shoots, and promise to be as relaxed as possible. So I was awkward, but Hannah still did a great job and got some awesome shots that you will see filtering onto the site.
Of course, I could not stand to be in such a neat location with a beautiful girl, and not spend some time behind the camera, so Hannah had her turn as subject too. While we were shooting, there was a rain storm moving in, which coupled with the cold winter light, created a rather eery atmosphere. Typically that would not be ideal, but in this location, it seemed to fit, and really complemented Hannah’s style. The stones, moss and light really created an edgy and contrasty atmosphere while maintaining a sense of elegance and beauty in this impromptu fashion shoot.
Hannah is wearing the Infinity Cowl by our wonderfully talented friend Jayna at JJCrochet (you can also find her on facebook, twitter or etsy). Hannah is also rocking Deerfield Boots by L.L. Bean, which she loves!
