Last summer I was passing through D.C. on my way from Virginia back to Pittsburgh, and I took the opportunity to meet up with my sister Sarah, her boyfriend Tom and my brother and sister-in-law in D.C. for dinner. Sarah was free first, so we met and took a walk along the Key Bridge and into Georgetown. Among other things, we talked about her relationship with Tom, and as I listened, I could tell that this was the real deal. Sarah is my only sister, and I know at times it must have been tough growing up as the only girl with three older brothers. Miraculously, through a childhood marked by Barbies with unwanted buzz cuts, boyish humor and being the fourth player to make even teams in backyard sports, Sarah has grown up to be one of the most caring, sweet, generous, loving, strong and talented women that I know. I have always prayed that Sarah would find a guy who sees, appreciates and loves all of those things about her, and I can truly say that she has.
